Support for the mission of our church includes:

Christian Formation/Education
Formative and educational opportunities for all ages are available throughout the year. Sunday School for young children, Fire on the Mountain for youth, and Adult Forums/Bible Study are some programs.

Vacation Bible School
St. James serves as the site for a community-wide vacation church school each summer. Servant leaders come from area churches and each year approximately 60 children attend.

Daughters of the King
A religious order for lay women who take vows to live a rule of life that includes prayer, works and study. DOK meets the second Tuesday of the month. Daughters also coordinate special church celebrations and arrange for food to be taken to those who have been ill or have suffered tramatic life events.

Outreach
The Heifer Project for global mission, the Medical Missionaries to Ecuador, The Turner Fund for local community needs are a few of the outreach programs. Seeds of the Spirit ministries provide care for bird feeders and the replenishing of seeds for the feeders at the Heritage Manor Care Center in Monteagle, TN.

Altar Guild
A group whose ministry is to care for the altar, vestments, vessels, and altar linens of the church. Members prepare the sanctuary for services, and clean up afterwards.

Music Ministry
A team made up of people who are involved in providing music to enhance the liturgy and worship environment of the church.

Ministry Advisory Committee
A group involved in long and short range ministry planning, evangelism, community building, and serves as an advisory team to the Priest in charge.

St. James Men's Choral Society
A group made up of men who love to make a joyful noise unto the Lord.

Bread Ministry
A group who bakes the bread for the Eucharistic celebrations in the church.

Ministry of Hospitality
A team whose ministry is to provide the snacks, coffee, tea, and juice for the fellowship time following church. They also help plan special celebrations during the church year.

Acolytes
Young people and not-so-young adults who serve as acolytes at liturgical events. Torch Bearers are usually eight years old and carry the candles during the processions. Crucifer/Servers carry the cross and serve at the altar.

Sunday School
Sunday School provides children the opportunity to learn of Godís Word, in a way that specifically addresses the needs of young children and youth.

Mission Council
The mission council is made up of six confirmed members of St. James. Two members are elected at the annual parish meeting to a three year term. The ministry of the mission council is to be responsible for the physical and financial affairs of the parish. It is the governing body of the church led by the priest, and a senior warden.

Building and Grounds
Faithful stewardship in the maintenance of the physical plant and property.

Worship
Includes those who assist the priest in planning liturgies that are broad, beautiful, and as expressive as possible within the Episcopal style of worship. The team is made up of lay readers, chalice bearers, intercessors, field education students, musicians, oblationers and members of the Altar Guild.

Welcoming and Nurturing
Those who serve as greeters to those arriving for worship. They welcome the visitors, newcomers, and members to help all to feel comfortable and welcome within the household of God.

Stewardship
Stewardship of the abundance of God's gifts is a year-round focus. Our view of stewardship is demonstrated in the ways that we are "church" and in how we share our treasures, time, and talents. A commitment to stewardship is critical for our mission and ministry to continue.

Seeking Saturday
Seeking Saturday is held six times a year, usually on the fourth Saturday of the month. Children in grades K-5 attend. It uses the rotational education/formation model. A special theme coordinates the 2 hour sessions.

Men's Group
The men's Group meets on the second Saturday of the month. The group has breakfast, fellowship, and then does some type of work/help in the community at large.
